Andy O’Brien, Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, captured Tubac’s night sky with new equipment for his Drift Alignment series. Andy will return for a second week of residency in March and continue his photography work with the intention of finding new ways of understanding the complex geographic, cultural and political dimensions of the Southern Arizona Borderlands. Andy also spent time photographing along the Juan Bautista de Anza International Trail. He said he reflected upon the deeper historical legacy of northward migration that has been a part of the region’s history for nearly three hundred years.
